SUMMER | PHOTO A DAY | TWENTY SEVEN

I really don’t have much to say today.  It’s been a pretty full-on couple of days, with the nieces and nephew over to stay last night.
The kids had a blast, but (no offence to my brother and sister-in-law) I was kind of reminded why we stopped at two.

After the quiet settled on our house again this afternoon and the kids sat staring at the tv, from opposite ends of the room, I sat and stared – struck first by Jaedon and the sweet innocent lines of his profile.  It reminded me so much of how he looked as a baby.  He still retains a lot of his newborn looks, especially when he sleeps.  Even now as I look at the photograph of that moment I want to reach out and stroke his cheek, and kiss the end of his perfect little nose.
I sat a way back to take this image, with my wonderful stealth lens attached to my camera, in order to not disturb him.

And then I snuck across to Alicia-Rae and paused to breathe in everything about her before capturing her slightly more hairy profile.
Part of me wanted to reach out and tuck her hair behind her ears but, apart from how it would have spoiled the moment, I know she hates that. And I quite like how just her lips and nose are peeping out from behind her gorgeous blonde mane, and the tiny sliver of eye and cheekbone that are just visible between the strands.  She makes my heart melt, in every possible way.

These are most likely the easiest and simplest photos I have taken throughout this project, and they are definately amongst my favourites.
And this is where I wish I could insert the sound of a big, deep, happy sigh.
