When your three point five and your five year old ask if they can do some painting outside, don’t ever take it for granted that they mean to use paper.

And don’t understimate how much fun they can have with two paintbrushes and three shades of purple (that did start out as red, blue and yellow).

And try not to worry about the mess they’ll end up making. It’s nothing a good hose down and a bubble bath can’t fix.
