SUMMER | PHOTO A DAY | TWENTY

I think I’m around the halfway mark today.  I say around because I haven’t figured out when I’m actually finishing this little Photo a Day project.  I only have in my mind that it will be the week of their first days at school.  So maybe not quite halfway there. But today I needed a bit of a break. I felt like I was taking photos for the sake of taking photos.  So I got the camera out and took what the kids gave me.  And then I put the camera away, instead of chasing them around with it all day.  I gave us all a bit of a break.

I have to laugh though.  Even with the zero effort put in, and the lack of anxiousness that I would miss that ‘magical’ moment if I didn’t have my camera at hand, I still ended up with moments and responses that are so perfectly them.  Perhaps removing the anxiousness was the key, or perhaps I just have predictable kids.  Either way I’m thinking I need to care less more often, and just enjoy the kids as they are, instead of as possible photo opportunties.

Another lesson learnt.
