You know the saying about how the cobbler’s children never have shoes, well this is generally the same with photographers. Oh we have shoes, some of us more than others, but we rarely have family photographs of our own. Simply because it’s a mighty hard task to be on both sides of the camera at the same time. And, believe me, I’ve tried. So a number of photographers that I share a bit of cyberspace with decided that we’d take part in a Pay it Forward type activity.
Ainslie, of Wild Spirit Photography in Brisbane, volunteered to photograph me and mine while she was down in Melbourne recently, and I in turn am offering my services to another photographer and her family, as soon as this unseasonal Melbourne weather decides to head back down to the antarctic where it belongs….
I’m so excited to be able to share my family, in it’s entirety, at last. We’ve not had a decent family photo taken in, like, ever. And Matt and I haven’t had any of just the two of us taken since we were married (if you don’t count the type where at least of us was holding the camera at the same time). That’s over nine and a bit whole years ago!!
I have to say Ainslie did a MARVELOUS job. If I’ve not thanked her at least a hundred times, then I should have done. Let me know if I need to add any more to the list, Ainslie. 🙂
These are some of my favourites below. Please excuse the overload.
Another gorgeous sunset shot, similar to the image a couple of posts below. I LOVE these ones.
We both managed to get a shot with Alicia-Rae, but Jaedon was off chasing the make-believe rabbits at this point, so he missed out.
Tell me how adorable they are!!!
A bit of black and white
And tell me how gorgeous these two are… 😉 (I love how AR makes an appearance at the bottom of the screen. I was tempted to clone her out, but why)
Matt’s favourite.
And my favourite.
I should mention here, mostly because Ainslie and I have slightly different styles, that even though Ainslie took the photographs I got to edit them. Which was kind of fun, but it was also very hard to be objective. And it was incredibly hard to stay away from the liquify tool, and the wrinkle eraser. 🙂
Thank you so much, again, Ainslie. We really do appreciate your time and effort. And our parents a hundred times more so. You wouldn’t believe how long they’ve been waiting for these.
