Leanne’s is the first family portraits I’ve done in a while. The wedding photography side of things (as well as all those gorgeous engagement and newborn sessions) has been keeping me pretty busy, but I had the most gorgeous evening with Leanne and her beautiful family recently – so gorgeous that it’s inspired me to put a bit of time aside to shoot more family sessions. Having a young family myself (speaking for the kids, that is, not me…) I know how super quick they grow up, and how much they can change in a teeny weeny snap of time.
What I loved most about spending time with this wonderful bunch below was just hanging out with them, taking a few snaps as I went. Well, a few more than a few, but we tried not to pose it up too much or make a big deal of it. I think we all wanted to walk away having captured a bit of who they are as a family – right now – doing what they love, being themselves, and just being together. Especially for gorgeous Mummy, who is a photographer herself so (like me) doesn’t feature in many of her family photos because she’s too busy taking them.
And I’m not saying this just because I know Leanne, but I do have to put it out there that she is one of the coolest, realest, lovingest, funnest mums out there. Her boys, big and little, are on a good thing having her in their lives. And she really needs to get in front of the camera more often, don’t you think.

I just have to add one more time before I sign off how much I loved this shoot, and how much I loved being able to do this for such a wonderful woman and her family. Thank you so much Leanne for trusting me, and for being your beautiful self.
