HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO US

We’ve been married for ten years today, Matt and I. Our tenth wedding anniversary, and I can honestly say I’ve not had to remind him about a single one of these.
It’s been an amazing ten years. So much so that I find it hard to write about what these years, and this man, mean to me.  How much fun we’ve had along the way, and how much love and laughter we’ve shared.

There was a poem I was going to share.  I wrote it just before Matt and I were married.  But at the end of the day as much as I want to shout our love from the rooftops, or from a sofa à la Tom Cruise, some things are meant for just us. That poem included.  All you need to know is I love him. Like mad. Like I never thought I would or could.  And I see the same thing in his eyes every day.  So while I’m thinking a Ten Year Anniversary is a big thing, it’s just the start really of something amazing.  A race in which, until now, we’ve just been picking up speed. Side by side, pacing it out together. Having a great time along the way.

Below is one of our favourite wedding photos.  It sums up us, our day, and our lives from that day on. For the most part anyway.  Not every day can be perfect, but there’ll always be us at the end of it.

Happy 10 Years, my sweetheart.  And it has been – very happy.  Because of you.  Here’s to the next 50 or so.
