…DOWN IN MY HEART

While getting ready to write this post, I had flashbacks from Sunday school, to the song we used to sing, “I’ve got that joy joy joy joy down in my heart”, after which everyone would jump up and yell ‘Where?” at the top of their lungs.  I’m sure most of you know which song I’m referring to.  If not, there’s a cute little version right here for you to listen to.  It’s very sweet, so I’d listen to it anyway.

And I do have lots of joy in my heart at the moment, not just because of the reason the song mentions, but because so many people this week have put it there. And a large part of it’s to do with all the lovely comments left on my blog this week, spread over the last couple of posts.  In particular I want to say a big thanks to everyone that left some joy in repsonse to the post with the same name.  I was genuinely touched reading them, and reminded of moments that bring me joy also, that I tend to forget about. So big cyberhugs to you all.
I did promise I would choose one of the replies as my favourite, and offer to gift the writer with a handmade dress for a little princess in their lives.  I honestly found it too hard to choose though. I went back and forth, and ummed and aahed, feeling guilty for all the ones I couldn’t choose.  I really wish I had the time and material to make everyone one. So in the end I left it to random.org to decide.  And I’m pretty sure even that had trouble.  I could feel it.
Anyway, congratulations Alyce.  You came out top on the randomly generated list.  I can’t wait to get sewing for you now.   Huge thanks to everyone else playing along. xx

But there’s another reason there’s a bit of joy floating around in my heart.  I got to do something on the weekend I haven’t had the chance to do for a long while. Something I’ve really missed, and didn’t fully realise how much until I was on my way home, somewhere between the Mornington Peninsula and here. While I sat in the car, in blissful silence, I felt bathed in  good memories, and mental pictures of what love means to different people. And how precious it is to be able to capture those things. Those looks. Those touches. Those moments.
I can’t share much at this stage, but I can leave you with one image that will give it away.

I seriously can’t wait for next year, and the opportunities I have to create even more of these memories.  Bring on 2010 – I’m ready!  🙂
