You know it’s going to be an amazing wedding when the bride-to-be explains that her bridesmaids, and her feet, will be clothed in orange. But then she goes on to describe how she’ll be arriving at the ceremony on the back of a vintage tractor, driven by her father. And throughout the course of the discussion she mentions that we’ll be visiting a shearing shed for photos, and she’d like to have a go at ‘shearing’ one of the sheep in her dress. While wearing her dress, I should clarify. Carolyn that is, not the sheep. You with me?
But it would have been an amazing day even without these things, if truth be told. Because the coming together of two people who love one another wholly, wilfully, and truthfully always is. The rest is just delicious icing on top of the beautifully decorated cake.
Carolyn and Gavin – I keep thinking of ‘your’ song, about how blessed the road is that led you both to where you are. About the journeys you took to get there, and who you are because of it. I’m so very happy I got to witness the destination, or at very least one of the waypoints. It’s an exciting path ahead, a grand adventure. How awesome that you get to share it with each other.
Thank you for allowing me to share in your day, in all it’s amazingness. Much love and joy to you both.
