Recently I’ve had the opportunity to shoot a few sessions in our new studio. The one we’ve been building on and off (mostly off, then frantically on) over the last 12 months or so, and finally completed about a month ago. There’s a little bit of styling left to do, so I’ll leave the ‘then and now’ blog post until that part is done, but I wanted share to some session images in the meantime.
The challenge for me, as more of a ‘lifestyle’ photographer, was to not shoot with a studio mindset – I still wanted the end result to be as natural as possible and more about capturing personality and moments than being all posey-posey.
Enter Skylar and Chloe.
I probably couldn’t have posed them if I’d tried, lol, but that’s a good thing. We ended up with a whole bunch of images that were lots of fun and all about who they are at this point in their lives. I like to think that in twenty years times they’ll be getting them out and still laughing about how crazy they looked, and what great friends they were – even back then.

I’m looking forward to shooting and sharing more of these sessions over the coming months, and to combining them with the outdoor area we have that I love so much. I may even be offering a Springtime Special (yay – spring’s just around the corner!!) so keep your eye out for that, as well as the before and after post I mentioned.
I’m pretty excited about my new little studio – I may even go out there every now and then and do my own little dance, and it doesn’t look that disimilar to Skylar and Chloe’s.
