SUMMER | PHOTO A DAY | DAY 4

Every Tuesday, weather permitting, and whether he’s actually in the country, the kids and I jump on the train into the city and meet with daddy for lunch.  If we’re running on time we stop into Haighs on the way and grab a handful of chocolate frogs to take with us.  If not (which is mostly the case) we stop into Haighs on the way home and grab a handful of chocolate frogs to bring with us.  Either way a trip to the city = chocolate frogs.
Today I took a train into the city to meet up with some friends for brunch, and Jaedon was devestated when he learned he wasn’t coming along for the ride. Or the chocolate.  So to make the tears disappear I did what all good mothers do and promised to return with a frog or two.  But only if he was good for daddy while I was gone.
Jaedon was good.  Mummy remembered the frogs.  And all was right with the world.

Alicia-Rae was too distracted by Nana and Papa’s arrival to notice the appearance of said frogs (she is my daughter, I swear…) so I had to tackle her to the ground, mid game of Tickle Me Silly, which is Alicia-Rae’s invention, and usually doesn’t take much tickling before she turns silly.

As much as I relished a few hours to myself today I missed their sweet faces, and Alicia-Rae’s crazy laugh. These photos remind me of what I love coming home to.
