SO EXCITED

Yes, if you can’t tell from the heading, I’m excited. Super excited actually.  Next week The Idea of North and James Morrison will be jazzing it up at the Forum Theatre right here in Melbourne.  You will have seen them somewhere lately, most likely on Sunrise or Hey Hey it’s Saturday, promoting their new collaboration album Feels Like Spring.
I’m so excited to be seeing The Idea of North again, having fallen in love with their work a couple years ago, and having featured one of their amazing arrangements Isn’t She Lovely on my old website.  Even now when I hear that song I think of all the hours I spent putting my very first website together, and just opening it up so I could listen to the song play over and over over. And over again. It brings back so many memories for me, and reminds me of all those feelings of excitement, and nervousness I had as I was launching myself into the big wide world of being a proper photographer.  It drove poor Matt mad as I sang it non-stop for about 4 months.  And of course everyone’s heard or seen James Morrison at some point in their lives.  He’s pretty much an icon here in Australia.  A trumpet playing icon.  So, yes, I’m pretty excited about seeing them both under the one roof on Wednesday, and having the opportunity to photograph the event as well.  The Idea of North. James Morrison. The Forum. What a buzz!

I have photographed TION before, and I think I even blogged about it here, but to save you going to look it up here are just a few of the images

Throw James Morrison in to the mix and it’s guaranteed to be an outstanding evening.

And talk about throwing things into the mix – I’m also very exited (how many times can I use that word in one post) that I have the opportunity to give four lucky readers the chance to go and see The Idea of North and James Morrison. In person. Yep – they’ll get to experience these fab five in the flesh.  How awesome is that.  There is a catch though – it’s for the Melbourne performance on Wednesday the 30th of June (which isn’t much of a catch really).  So you have to be local, unless you’re prepared to travel in at your own expense. And you MUST be available on that evening – it’s not transferrable for any other location or date.
The tickets will be given away in two pairs, so I guess you have two chances of receiving them.  And all you have to be in with a chance is click on the ‘Like’ button at the end of this post, then open up your Twitter, Facebook, or Blog account and mention this post, (make sure you refer to this one specifically –  the direct link is https://njoythemoment.com.au/?p=2516 ) then come back here and leave a comment (if you don’t have accounts with any of these, please feel free to leave a comment anyway, telling me how much you’d love to go, and I’ll enter you into the draw – just because I’m so nice).  Everyone who leaves a comment will go in the random draw to receive one of two double passes to this incredible evening.  And if you go ahead and ‘like’ The Idea of North’s facebook page, or my own, you’ll receive bonus points from us (though they won’t technically help you win – it will just put you in our good books…).  🙂
Comments MUST be made by 4pm (EST) on Monday the 28th of June, and I will be contacting the winners as soon as possible thereafter.  And I must ask that you please only participate if you are 100% sure you can make it on the night, to save some very sad people from missing out.

So go on, spread the word. Tell all your friends (all your Melbourne friends anyway) and get in before you forget (if you’re anything like me) – you don’t want to miss out on this.  I know it’s one night I’m looking forward to.

Edited to add a comment from Nick, from Idea of North
“Hi all! I just want to add we will have a fabulous rhythm section with us on the night – The Idea of North and the James Morrison Quartet. Together as a band of eight.
See you there, four (and perhaps more) readers of this fabulous blog, and you, Narrelle, on Wednesday night! Yay!
Nick, The Idea of North.”
