RANDOMNESS

I woke up this morning and decided to make myself a skirt. And so I did – or should that be ‘and sew I did’?
Trust me – this isn’t how I normally operate. But I fancied something new to wear. Something a bit different. And I had the perfect material, and the perfect pattern to go along with it. And by the time the 11:33 train pulled into the station, at more like 11:38, I was proudly patting down the front of my newly made, different, one of a kind skirt, as the wind threatened to reveal more of my legs than I liked.  The world’s not quite ready for that yet. Not until I get some fake tan happening anyway.

While we were in the city we stopped by to have a look at the Myer Christmas windows, which is always a treat. It was Jaedon’s first time to see them, and while Alicia-Rae slept like a lumberjack (snoring loud enough to hear two suburbs away) in the back of the pram, Jaedon stood enthralled at the window’s edge bursting into the sweetest most purest smiles. While my heart was bursting with pure, sweet joy.  I’ll never cease to be amazed at just how warm and fuzzy moments like this make me feel. Mummy moments.

awe

And if you ever wonder why your freshy pyjama-ed children, who are running around in the back yard, suddenly go quite, a good place to check first is the pile of leaves down the side of the house.  Apparently it’s the best fun EVER to bury your car collection, your legs, your sister, whatever comes to hand really, then dive into the pile to find them only to start over again 10 seconds later.  It looked like so much fun I almost joined them. But, you know, I’m, like, a grown-up now…

And that’s my day.  🙂
