We had a good day today.
I bundled the kids up into the pram this morning and we all caught a train in to the city. They LOVE the train! So the day’s always off to a good start when a train’s involved. 🙂
Then I wanted to get some photos inside St Paul’s Cathedral (in Melbourne) so resorted to bribery – a chuppa-chup always comes in handy when I need to threaten to take it off Jaedon if he doesn’t get back in his pram. 🙂
So far we have a train ride followed by sweets. Getting better.
Then we headed down to the park at Birrarung Mar, just behind Federation Square. Every time we get off the train at Flinders Street Jaedon always yells out ‘Park, park!’. He’s no fool.
So now we have a train ride followed by sweets and a visit to the park. Can it get any better?
Only if the next thing we were to do would be to go to McDonalds for chips and chicken nuggets for lunch. Which we did. And then we went across the road and sat on the grass outside St Paul’s (where we started) and chased the seagulls around that had come to pinch everyone’s chips (fries). Life truly doesn’t get any better. And here’s a photo to prove just how happy Jaedon was about it all (taken just after he tripped chasing one of the birds).
And don’t worry, Alicia-Rae wasn’t feeling left out amongst all this. Fortunately she finds enjoyment in the same things as her brother – which is just as well. Only thing is she misses out on the chuppa-chups. But her time will come.
But she seriously had the whole park endeared to her by the time we left. She was wandering around saying hello to everyone in between chasing the birds with Jaedon and rolling around in the grass. Why can’t I be 1 and a half again?! 🙂
And she was more than happy to lay there and let me take a few photos of her – which made my day. So we all ended up happy. 🙂
And, of course, now that I’ve mentioned me taking photos inside the cathedral I just have to share them now. I’m still being blown away by the 5D MKII – I think I’m slowly starting to find my groove with it and get a feel for what it can do. But it’s still managing to surprise me. All of these are sooc (straight out of camera) which means the only thing I’ve done to them is resize and sharpen for web (but only very slightly). The settings used are under each photo for those interested.

All were shot with my 20mm 1.8 lens, and there was no noiseware used.
And just a couple more shots of the kiddos before I sign off for the night. I just love ’em to bits! 🙂
