366 pieces | Day 345

Life’s great when the only thing you have to do to keep the kids happy is take them for a ride on the train.  🙂
It was a bit of a late night last night – I met with some fellow photographers in Melbourne for a bit of a Christmas dinner, followed by a wander down the river by Southbank taking some photos (it’s been a loooooong time since I’ve seen the clock hit 2 in the am stage of it’s travels…).  Needless to say I was a bit bleary-eyed this morning and figured it was probably best to get me and the little ones out of the house and go on a bit of an adventure.  This translated as catching the train into the city to pick up a spare battery (finally) for the new camera.
Jaedon was in his element as always, even wearing one of his Thomas t-shirts to complete the experience.  I can’t get over how ‘old’ he looks in this photo though – not so much like my little baby anymore.

And we have waited a long time for this shot of Alicia-Rae.  Unlike her brother she hasn’t become attached to any toys/dolls/blankets etc,.  We’ve diligently put Piglet to bed with her every night (and every nap) for the last 12 months or so, only to find the poor pink pig stuffed through the bars and laying in a lonely heap on the floor whenever we go back in. Being as independant as she is it hasn’t really surprised us.  But today she hasn’t let go of him – in fact she’s been smothering him with the cuddles of a long lost friend all day.  It’s been sooo sweet!  It’s funny that something so ‘insignificant’ would have me so happy.  🙂

And here’s an ‘out-take’ which I just had to share – she just makes my heart melt looking at her. I can’t wait to see the beautiful young woman she becomes.

And one more photo to leave you with, taken during our travels last night.  I LOVE Melbourne at night – it’s such a beautiful city.
