She was so excited to finally be getting married that she literally bounced down the aisle. If Tigger had been a guest, he would have left in a huff, realising he’d been outdone at what he does best. The service that then followed was punctuated by squeals, and air-punches, and more bouncing. Anyone would think she was having the time of her life. And they’d have been right. It was the time of her life. Their life. Their new life together. And it was exciting stuff.
Apart from being an excitedly happy bride, Melina made an incredibly beautiful new wife. I knew my camera would love her, but I was unprepared for just how much. My wonderful friend Michelle, who flew all the way up from Tasmania to shoot the wedding with me, commented that Melina should run classes teaching bride’s-to-be how to rock it on their wedding day. I couldn’t agree more. I’ve yet to photograph someone with so much natural charm, and elegence, sass and just downright gorgeousness. Team her with an incredibly good looking guy, who clearly adores her in every single way, and has no doubt about his need to spend the rest of his life with her, and you have a heart-thumping, sigh-worthy match made in heaven. That said I have to confess I was doing my own bouncing around, in my little corner office, as I watched the images pop up on the screen as they were downloading from my camera. That’s how excited I was to see them.
It was an honour to be a part of such a happy, joyful day, filled also with the promise of a wonderful and exciting future. Two people becoming one, bound together by something much bigger than themselves. And it made my heart sing to read Andrew’s facebook status update this week (which I hope he doesn’t mind me sharing)… “Andrew is married to the most stunning, Godly, beautiful, gorgeous, wonderful woman ever created!!”. Though I’m sure he stole that line off my husband. 🙂
Now that they’re back from their honeymoon, and have seen their photographs themselves, I’m so excited to be able to share them. I have been busting for the last three weeks to show everyone just how beautiful these guys are. YAY!!
I can remember the mixture of emotions she’d have been feeling as she was getting ready, and counting down the last few hours until that magical “I do”.
How serene, calm and radiant does she look.
Until she sees herself in the mirror for the first time. Then the nervous excitement kicks in.
More beautiful serenity.
Agree with me here – how much like Jennifer Aniston does she look in the right hand photograph.
Almost there. The big moment is just around the corner. Inhale…. Exhale…
I love this photo. One of my favourites from the day.
The first kiss as newly minted man and wife. And Melina was in no hurry to let go.
One of my other favourites (I can have as many as I want, right…). This shot is sooooo Melina, and so typical of the day. The papers were signed and it was finally offical. And how excited was she! 🙂
I told you this girl knows how to work it.
These ones make me sigh big, deep, happy sighs.
The awesome groomsmen and bridesmaids.
Gor.Geous.
The first dance. I have to share how wonderfully they did this. Breaking tradition (as I know it) Melina danced with her father first, then Andrew stepped in to take over, David graciously handing his daughter over to her new husband. I’d never seen it done this way before, and I found it incredibly touching.
These last two shots are what the day was all about – love and laughter. And plenty of both.
And if these aren’t enough for you, head on over here to view their wedding slideshow.
To Melina and Andrew, the most stunning, Godly, beautiful, gorgeous couple – congratulations. From the bottom of my heart. And Matt’s too. xx
